Epo-Fix is an original product that was formerly only available in the metallographic field. We discovered that it is a perfect embedding media for the majority of material specimens after thorough testing in our laboratory.

LR White was by far the most widely used embedding media for materials due to its block hardness, although it has drawbacks.

For example, the specimen's adhesion is low, and additives are necessary to increase the specimen's adhesion. Another big issue is the difficulty to appropriately orient the specimen in order to cut your block later.This is simply due to the fact that LR White requires oxygen deprivation, therefore the manufacturer recommends using gelatine capsules (vertical). Another issue is that polymerisation might take up to 24 hours in the oven.

All of these issues are addressed by Epo-Fix. It offers excellent sectioning qualities, good sample adhesion, low viscosity, easy mould curing (no orientation issues), and short cure durations.

Kit consists of:

• 2 x 500mL resin
• 130mL hardener
• 15 disposable paper cups and wooden spatulas
• 1 measuring syringe 20 ml and 1 syringe 5ml

Epo-Fix Technical Data:

A two-component epoxy resin with little shrinkage during curing and excellent mechanical qualities once cured. It's especially well-suited to embedding hard materials with complex shapes and vacuum impregnation. Epo-Fix can be utilised with a variety of samples, including paper, silicon, ceramics, metals, wafers, and chips. It has a low viscosity, a low vapour pressure, excellent wetting qualities, and very little shrinkage.  It hardens in about 8 hours at room temperature without generating substantial heat (no harm from heat or pressure), and it hardens in about 2 hours at 60 degrees C. It's worth noting that putting Epo-Fix in a desiccator while it cures will eliminate any air bubbles.
